Adapting to a remote world
By Zlatko Lakisic In Offering, Technology Posted April 17, 2020 0 Comments

A couple of recent New York Times articles focused specifically on the increase in consumption via the on-line remote medium in the current COVID19 slump recession world we reside in.

The first article https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/04/07/technology/coronavirus-internet-use.html titled “The Virus Changed the Way We Internet” the writers Ella and Nathaniel analyzed the way COVID19 changed for which purpose and on what scale people actually use the internet.

Overall, the consumption of digital resources is on the rise. Even if you take into account the slump of youtube up to this point, the other 5 platforms listed more than compensate for this.

Even if we look at the consumption of news and informational sites, whose content traditionally is not media-based, we can conclude a staggering increase in interest and consumption.

We can actually see that the consumption of some sites is as high at 150% when compared to pre-COVID19 numbers.

In the next article https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/04/11/business/economy/coronavirus-us-economy-spending.html titled “How the Virus Transformed the Way Americans Spend Their Money” the NYT writers Lauren and David analyze specifically how Americans spend money in the COVID19 world.

What they found, in a nutshell, is that most of the consumer dollar is actually going to spending over the internet.

This is exactly in locks step with the previous NYT article.

Strike while the iron is hot!

With the consumption of online media, shopping and overall usage is skyrocketing, what are you doing to catch this wave?

How long does it take you to integrate services from YouTube, Facebook and even online realtors such as Amazon to enrich your content and get a higher overall viewership and patronage for your “in-COVID19” business?

The OmegaCMS platform can seamlessly integrate any source of data out there. Why is this important and how is it relevant to me you ask?

When we look at “delivery services” (which is one term analyzed in the second NYT article) in the google trends console, we can see that the demand for this keyword has spiked over the last 90 days.

Furthermore, we can analyze the term “online shopping” we can also see a great spike in interest over the last 90 days

So the question remains, have you supplemented your online content with the trending keywords or popular content from other sites to increase your reach and generate new revenue and growth?

If not, why not?

We are OmegaCMS and we can help you with this issue.
